In my 07 SG (gone now) I used LRB Gold pads... they stop very well & are almost dustless. Most composite pads, like the Kevlar models, are better & produce less dust than HDs stock metal pads do. Opinions will vary.....
Lyndall Zplus really low dust, but not the best during wet weather. Lyndall Gold great in all weather and a little more dust, but less than stock. The stock pads are pretty good as far as for what they were designed for...to stop the bike dependably and have a relatively long service life....just the dust as you have experienced.
