So is it normal that 1 out of 4 nut i can see tread from the bolt and the other 3 are flush or not. Also was off at the rear by about 1/2 inch (i had to push upward to get it in place so i could screw the nuts in).As for the cross over gasket i just ordered another one.But it just seem that the outside diameter of these pipes are too big because of powder coat. And yes i did read the instruction and i did restart 3 times.
It is important to make sure the flange is engaging square to the port. Depending on which specific gaskets you are using the nuts will generally sit about even with the end of the stud however note that this will vary as the exhaust studs are threaded into the head and may end up at different lengths. I put mine on today. Had trouble getting the head pipe to line up then the full size crossover pipe is loose. It came with an aluminum sleeve (looked like aluminum) but no gasket. Has anyone else received the full size crossover pipe with a gasket.
I'm also having trouble lining up the heat shields.
My son bought a set and he had the same problems.
I think I will call FM tomorrow & see what I'm doing wrong.
The Jackpot X-over pipe does not use the factory gasket, the aluminum sleeve included with the kit is the actual gasket and allows the crossover to fit up precisely to the header. If you have any questions you are welcome to contact us at 877-729-4754
I installed the 2-1-2 ceramic coated head pipe, 4.5" Pro Touring, Stage 1 air filter and had only miner issues. Most likely caused by being a first time install. Also purchased the Power Vision to remap. All of this went onto a new 2011 Road King. The system worked flawlessly, I got the performance I was looking for and lost the heat. I think the system is so good I'll be installing the same setup on my new 2014 Ultra Classic in the Fall.
Well started the bike tonight.Everything looks perfect at the motor heads.Bolts were retorqued 3-4 times after each run times.Makes more sense now,got a bit more thread on the bolts.Pipes are in there holes ,no leak at heads. As for the cross pipe i will be receiving gasket next week. Then i will be tuning her up and driving her after almost 7 months. They only thing not that looks bad is the bottom heatshield ,theres a gap of about 1/2 inch from bottom to big heatshield. But might be able to match it closer.
