Default PCIII maps?

Just a observation: Does anyone know why Power Commander maps are so much richer than Fuel Moto's (Jamie) maps.

I checked the maps side by side for my bike. Same mods and equipment on both maps.
Many figures are double the amount on Power Commanders map.

I have Jamie's map and the bike runs great, but what gives? I talked to both and got the I don't know answer.

??????

Don't have the exact answer foryou but I stared with the Fuelmoto map
then had it dynoed.
Vastly different maps and results.
My suggestion would be to research a good tuner and do it.
Not knocking Jamie at all. All bikes are different.

2nd question:

Jamie's maps also do not show 2 tables or both cylinders. If you upgrade his map in the software to "advanced" it does show both tables but the numbers are the same. Power commanders maps show both tables and numbers are quite different.

Any PCIII experts out there????

In talks with jamie, he said he develops his maps for good overall power and good fuel mileage. The PCmaps are designed to be more generalized, I ran my bike with jamies map, then ran with the PCMap for the same mods and my bike ran good on the PC map, but much better on jamies.

To be honest, if you want the best success, get a starting point (Map from Jamie or PC) then take it to get dyno'd. There is a reason for getting specific tuning to your bike. You will be happier.

I had a map from Jamie in my PC on my new PC and wan't unhappy, but felt there was some lean beahvior still occuring. Took it to a tuning facility and explained what 'I' wanted from the PCIII and the dyno was able to give me what I wanted and runs better (IMHO).

I'm using the Fuel Moto map tweaked by Jamie for fuel mileage in the cruise range. I've leaned it further in this and the take-off range, but nowhere else, and the bike runs very well. Torque, torque, torque at every RPM, and revs quickly to 6200 RPM with no flat spots. This bike doesn't need a cam or further upgrades, IMO, and I don't see the point of putting it on a dyno. Also, none of the hesitation or slow starting (maybe a little) some are complaining about.

Default RE: PCIII maps?

Just researched more today and found out my map from Jamie is a base map. This means when he dyno'd my set up he sets the specs in 1 table (average for both cyl.) and the specs apply to both cylinders equally.
My bike ran good.
I just today loaded an "advanced" map from PC. This means when PC dyno'd my set up they dyno each cylinder separately. I now have 2 tables with totally separate numbers, one for each cylinder. PC just started making advanced maps for 07's. As far as I can tell, only Harleys at this time. Really only possible with any ease on a twin or single cylinder.

This advance map makes much more sense than a single table "average" map. Much closer to a SERT map.

My bike runs GREAT!!!! I was getting some slight bobble and or back fire on decel and some weird 2% throttle intermitant surge with Jamie's map. All gone now. Don't get me wrong, the bike ran really well with Jamie's map, but now I would have to say it runs as close to perfect as I can tell. If I ever find a tuner I can trust I may dyno it just to see the numbers.
