Default Shock Pressure

How much pressure do you guys typically run in your shocks. I normally ride by myself. I've never messed with these kinds of shocks before. I haven't messed with my shocks since I bought it last year. Any help will be appreciated.

Your going to get the answers of it depends or use the search function or look at your owners manual... But...

I was running 40lbs on my SG. It was a little stiff for solo but worked fine. When my wife road with me (majority of my long rides) it was perfect.
I just set them to 35lbs and it's nice for solo but a little soft for 2up.

I weigh 215 lbs dressed in riding attire and my wife is 9 months pregnant so she's at about 135lbs now.

Get a suspension air pump and mess with it

Recommended psi is too much for my 'King.
I ride with 5 - 10 psi solo, 20 psi with two up.
I have rode mine at zero, got some "Bottom out", went the other way.
50 psi at two up is no suspension at all.
I am 225, BTW.
YMMV
Experiment on your setup with a good gauge, good luck!

Ive seen many threads on this subject. And it seems more like personal preference some guys run low pressure like someone stated 0-10psi and some guys will say 50psi. Just gotta find what works best for you and right down your results of each pressure that you try. For example differemce between ridin solo and 2 up. I run 34-38 all the time and works well for me.

Your *** will tell you what's right. I also found that the recommended pressures are too high for my liking. I'm about 220 and keep mine at 10-12.

This a regular subject! If you don't have a pump with a gauge get yourself one. Use the numbers in your manual as a starting point and adjust it from there, until you find a pressure that you like. If you can't get them to give a decent ride you won't be the first, so chuck'em and get yourself some decent 'normal' shocks. Plenty of threads about doing that as well!
