Bikes with ZERO miles on them are always nicer than bikes with 1000's of miles on them.
I'll tell you flat out there is no way a new '14 tourer is even is the same universe as my 08. Argue all you want but you're wasting your time because you're wrong.

Update:I'll take the new fork set up, you guys can fight over the rest of it.

Assuming you don't have unlimited funds, I would advise you to put the $$ into a few trips instead. Over only the last 10 years, I've seen most of the mainland US, been to Alaska, Europe and South Africa. No bike is worth the memories from even one of those trips. My dad came over from the UK in '08 and we did a pretty straight forward tour of Co and Ut for a week (dad rode my Speed Triple!) He passed away in '10. Forget the new bike, get out there...

wow! thank you all for your input. I have not decided what I am going to do yet but I do appreciate all the input. I am thinking of waiting till the 2015 models come out before making my final decision. Next week I will be going to my Harley dealer to kick some tires( 2 hours away, one way). I might consider new shocks and try to improve the ride on what I have. Abs brakes would be nice but otherwise I am very happy with my 07 street glide. Thank you all again for your comments!

Assuming your SG has similar stock suspension and brakes to an '05 Road King Custom, you can transform the thing with ~$1000 of Progressive suspension hardware and a retrofit of '09/up Brembos ($200 ish on Ebay - although I didn't bother with ABS). Some of my other posts contain the details if you're curious; a perfect cure for insomnia at least.

...and you'll still have money left for gas!

Default Worth it?

2007 Has 5 gal tank, no Brembo brakes, No linked brakes, old style frame, gear ratio is too high.

As has been said before, trading in for a 09 or later would be worth it.

I rented a 2014 and it was night and day better than my 2013. The twin cooled motor is a huge step up if you ever get stuck in traffic.

If you can afford it, you will be very pleased with the upgrade.

If your thinking about it... youre gonna do it... yes there are many differences in the bikes the engine is bigger and faster the new infotainment is cool the batwing will reduce the buffeting quite a bit... the biggest change is in the frame I couldn't believe how much easier to handle my 13 is over older touring bikes I rode plus you have somewhat better heat management eitms than the 07 had which was... none

One major thing about the 07's that has not been brought up; the crank. The 07 and 08' big twins have a high crank failure rate. If your crank goes you are looking at thousands to repair. Something to be aware of.

That is hilarious, I'm sure HD is making sure the the new bikes have better cranks.

I say if you want it get it. Many improvements on the new ones. I have over the last couple days spent time on my low mile 2004 and Dad's high, 70k+ mile 2009 Ultra and the ultra is a smoother machine all around.More power, better brakes, handles nicer, rides smoother.
Go to your dealer and rent one and see for yourself.

As others stated, go ride one and decide for yourself. I made the mistake of riding a 2014 limited at a demo event. I say mistake because there is no way in hell I could afford one. Thay are AWESOME compared to my 2006, makes my bike feel like an antique. They are so smooth a nibble and have nice power. Maybe some day when the kids are out of college.
