New to the touring family. I've put about 750 miles on my new to me '12 SG (Rinehart SO, V02 AC & Fuelpak) in the last couple of weeks and I'm enjoying the ride BUT I'm noticing a lack of throttle response in 4th and 5th when cruising at roughly 3k rpm. I twist the throttle and it gets loud like it wants to do something but takes a solid second before beginning to respond.
My only frame of reference is dirt bikes in my youth and my Sportster which always responded immediately so I'm not sure if this is normal to a Touring model or something I should be diagnosing and getting repaired.
I put a set of Avon Contour grips on and have checked the fit to ensure nothing is slipping.
I realize V&H makes a throttlepak for better throttle response or I could upgrade to a TTS tuner which I think accomplishes what the Fuelpak/Throttlepak combo attempts to accomplish. I thought I would get some opinions before spending anything.
I put a Dynojet Micro Tuner from Fuel Moto on my bike. Best $200.00 I've spent. I also have an S&S stealth air cleaner, decatted headpipe and V&H slip ons. I was having the same problem you are experiencing but, not anymore.
