That's cool, but I've always wondered why a fireman would want flames on his bike/car/truck or whatever! Having been a firefighter, I thought our goal was to FIGHT and WIN the battle over fire so we should have no flames on our stuff
Personally, ah've never been a big "flame" fan - but lots of others are. Just find stuff like that interesting...
I'm with you, seems every custom, and even stock now, paint jobs seem to be some variation of flames. When I had my VTX painted, all I said to the guy was "Just don't do flames" I gave him the colors I wanted to be used and he did a great job
IMO, Bushtec makes one of the best - but ya pay for 'em. Ours is a Genesis, which was their "top of the line" model in '99 an' cost us a tad over 4500, IIRC. It's gone over 50,000 miles with us so far. There's a TON of design advantages that you really want to investigate at a rally where they've got some so that you can see for yourself, or make a run by the factory. They ain't cheap - but given the quality of the build, I think they pay for themselves over time.
Our favorite color is Red, an' our '98 & 2003 Goldwings wuz both red. The UC is red, an' close 'nuff ta keep us happy fer now, unless ah decide ta go with a different style Bushtec - which ah doubt, since ours is everything we need at this point!
