They were a waste of $160, on install it took 3 sets before both sides asctually worked correctly. Now that both work they are not at all hot maybe get warm at best. I was really looking forawrd to having heated grips while keeping my current grips. I would not recommend them to anybody.
Ive had my set on my 2010 ultra, then I switched bars to wild 1 chubbys and installed
them in those also!!
They get very warm !!
Maybe not HOT !!!
But my hands stay nice and warm!!!
Mine get pretty hot, it does take at least 5 minutes or more. BUT,the drawbacks are, 1. They only heat your palms, not so great when cold air is always hitting the backs of your hands. 2. When it gets really cold and wearing gloves you feel only some heat through the gloves.
I think heated gloves would be a better solution.
Rode 25 miles with them and they never broke above almost warm. It knocked the chill of of htem just enough to say they are on. Could not feel them at all while riding til i got home and stopped. Wasnt really cold out but i wanted to try them out since newly installed.

I agree.
I have heated grips bit I also have a Gerbing heated jacket liner and heated H-D gloves.
I've used those gloves in October weather and I know they work well.
I also use hand wind deflectors (mounted on the mirror stems) and they also provide some extra protection.
Sorry to hear you've had issues, I've had them for 2 years and they've worked great. It's nice to just hit the button and have warm hands - same grips, same gloves - easy. I use them year 'round here in Northern Indiana.
I had them and mine got pretty warm, but after a bar change, they stopped working. Something got messed up when I moved them and extended the wires for my taller bars, and never could figure out why they stopped working.
My only complaint with them when they worked was the control switch faded to a dull black after a short period of time.
I am now running the HD heated grips, now these things get hot. Never really turn them up higher then a 3 (out of 6)
