With the black 3M reflective stuff they use on so many jackets which seems to work pretty well, I wonder why they haven't gone to less visible reflector material or location on the bikes?
Personally, I agree with you on function over form concerning reflectors, especially given the conditions I tend to ride in frequently, but there is no question a better looking solution would be received well.
I'm all for making myself visible to other traffic. I'm still puzzled by guys who want to remove any reflectors they can get their hands on or who swap out their lenses for smoked lens or install tiny tail lights in place of the stockers.

just think, with a TourPak, you have a place to mount a revolving yellow light, or one of those ATV flags.
