Hi:
Again thanks!
Is this 2013 StreetGlide wheel definitely 25mm versus the 1.0" on my 2002 (so damn confusing between the different models...)?
If so, can the neighbor (he's very good with great machines) just slightly shave my axle down to some dimension (0.985??)?
Thanks some more! RW
This is getting confusing. If you do have the '12-'13 wheel you should use the 25mm axle, like Drew recommended. The spacers are different, same width each side." The 1" spacers wont work on a 25mm wheel setup. It can be done I ran a '10 wheel upfront and a '05 sportster rear wheel on a '00. Just need the correct axle and or bearings. The Profile spokes are nice looking wheels.
That looks like a 65 1/2. As it has the pan top end? They came with shovel top and pan bottoms in late 65? Unless my old brain has forgotten the facts. I almost bought one cheap back in 77 ( pan top). Sweet ride!
Howdy:
Thanks again all!
DanDman: I concur, pretty damn confusing just trying to figure out when they did what to just Baggers, let alone the other models.... I'll measure things around more closely this weekend and go to Zap's(?) for a 25mm axle, nut & proper spacers!
Any advise on where to get a tire for this 18" wheel? I don't want to open the "Pandora's Box" of what tire, just where to on-line a tire!
Calgary: I ain't never heard of no '65 & 1/2??? Mine is a last year Pan with electric start. I think I thought '66 for the Shovel topped Pan bottom thrugh say '69(?), then the cone bottom....
Thx, RW
I put a 2011 wheel on my 2002. Used the 25mm inner spacer, Harley 9247 double row 1" bearings, made 2 spacers 1 1/2"od x 1"id x .780" wide and used 11.5" rotors with the stock axle.
