I spoke with Jamie about this, he said some early 107s (not theirs) used Nikasil sleeves in the jugs that caused some oil burning problems. They've done hundreds of 107s, they've never had a problem with burning/using oil.

Nikasil is a brand name for a fancy nickel-based wear-resistant coating used to line cylinders in many production engines, as well as by some specialist builders. It's been around since the 70s AFAIK and firms like BMW and Moto Guzzi have built millions of engines using it. Early BMW flat twins and sixes had problems, but that is a lifetime ago!

I get that, but he mentioned a brand that had problems.
