Default Headers = less MPG?

Getting ready to go with some fuel moto stainless steal headers. Understood about the need for a tune, which will happen, should I expect fewer MPG?

With my stage one, I ended up with 3mpg more. Went from 36 to 39.

All depends on how much you like hearing those new pipes.

headers should give better MPG- universal fact.

BUT a mis-tune can skew results

I have seen more than a few bikes spewking out black smoke and 30 MPG

40 to 44 MPG before tune and 40 to 44 after stage one.

I don't keep accurate records of mileage for my bikes, that novelty wore off years ago! However I don't see any significant change in mpg from several different states of tune, over the years. The first mods, doing away with the EPA stuff, gave improved mpg if anything, everything afterwards was pretty much the same.

my road king went from 39 to 44 mpg after fuel moto head pipe, V&H, SE air filter and tune. it also runs a lot cooler and sounds great.
