Default Feeling more heat

I just bought a 2010 cvo ultra with a 110 engine, true dual headers and Vance Hines monster ovals . I'am feeling more heat on the right side than i did with my old bike which had the 96 engine. I'am wondering if this the nature of the 110 or if something is going on.i would appreciate any info you guys can provide

I was in panic mode after I got my 2011 Limited Ultra, and felt the same thing. I thought I had a big problem. The heat was terrible. As soon as I got Vance & Hines Power Duals, everything was fine. Got rid of that catalytic converter. The heat was back to what I'd call "normal." You said you have true duals, but if you still have that cat in there, that's why it's so hot. I'm not a mechanic by any stretch. Just my own experience with the cat.

Thanks guys. The cat should be gone with the true duals. It is nothing terrible but it is not hot weather yet. I just never noticed on my 96 but I had a fan powered jag oil cooler on it.

These 110" motors are very normally hot.

However, with what you have already installed on your bike. I might say that you really need a tuner devise. (not mentioned, if you have one already) if you do have one, maybe a proper tune!

Not talking about the dealer download street legal EPA stuff. A real dyno turner or a real good map from someone who actually tunes bikes for a living will make your ride much, much more enjoyable.

It came with a Screaming Eagle tuner that he said a dealer tuned it with. It was not a dyno tune. Maybe it needs a dyno. Seems to run pretty good smooth and idles well

The next step is to get rid of the SE-255 cams in there....... I put a set in my 103 and the heat really fired up! Going Andrews 57.........

The SE255 cam is one hell of a toque cam.

For most riders that don't want to mess with their bike at all, it works great for them. However, it does come with some pitfalls. One being making the 110" motor run hot.

Sticking talking about this cam in a 110" motor. With a proper tune the heat can be tamed down and run really well, but they tend to fall short on the rpms.

Switching cam, getting a real turner, and a dyno will really wake your 110" motor up.

My 103 has had SE255 cams for the last 50,000 miles and it doesn't run any hotter than any other 103.
