I have V&H True Duals and Monster Ovals on my '03 ElectraGlide. Went to the Monster Ovals after several years running Screamin Eagle Slip Ons that were too loud. My friends complained they could not hear me but.... for the 1st time ever I could hear the radio and everything around the bike. To me it seems the Monster Ovals have a heavy rumble at and just off idle but as the RPM's increase the noise goes away. I liked the Monster Ovals so well that when I purchased my ne '13 I installed Power Duals and Monster Rounds. I would say the Power Duals gives a much smoother sound and may be a little quieter than the True Duals. Also, I installed the Monster Rounds on my original cats and found it made little to no change in the sound. I called the V&H tech line and was told the sound pulses are cancelled in the catalytic converter and if I wanted more I needed to remove the cat. As I wanted the throatier idle, I went back later and installed the Power Duals.
I am very happy with the fit finish sound and long lasting beauty of the V&H products on my '03 and '13 Harley's
I have dresser duals with Monster Ovals on my '10 Ultra. I got them because they were quieter than other pipes, as I was going out early in the mornings. After about 5K miles they got a bit louder, then after I did cams they got a bit louder again, but not really loud. They do bark a bit when you get on the throttle though.
At this point I'm actually thinking about getting something louder, I don't do early mornings anymore, and I'm looking for a change.
I've got dresser duals and monster ovals on my 2011 SG. Love the sound. Nice deep rumble.
I've got a noise meter app on my phone so I decided to see how loud they really are.
Standing 2 feet behind the bike at idle the decible meter reads 79 db. Only 82 if you hold it almost in the muffler.
So they are pretty quiet, but will give you a nice bark when you crack on the throttle.
Ran a set of Monster Ovals and Dresser Duals on my 2009 Street Glide with a 120R. Nice sound...was plenty loud when I opened it up. Excellent quality and fit.
