Default bolting outer to inner primary 06 SG

lss - putting bike back together after new installing new primary tensioner shoe - one of the one bottom hole on the inner primary is striped - already had heli-coil - why can I just get a longer bolt and put a locking nut on the inner primary side? opinions please - thanks

It's your bike, do what you want...

But, is the outer surface of the inner primary even where that lock nut would be located? You would also probably benefit from using a little silicone sealer, like with the other bolts which have open threads, or in the transmission case. And, next time you take it off, remember what you did with that bolt. That brings up, if you sell it, are you going to tell the buyer what you did? I'd think re-doing the heli coil would be best...

yes, the outer surface of the inner-primary; not selling this one anytime too much $$ into it and it's one the last carb'ed bikes out there

I was actually asking if the outer surface was even. Meaning, will the nut/washer seat on an even surface, where it won't cause the bolt to bend trying to conform to an uneven surface. It may also distort how the bolt 'pulls' on the primary case, like kind of pull to the side, if an uneven surface forced it sideways...
