I have an opportunity to sell my 06 SG and move up to a 2010 EG Classic with 500 miles on the clock. It also has ABS brakes. The asking price was 18500, I offered 15000. So far the owner is down to 15500 but I'm still working on him.
I'm wondering if I offered too much since it's not an Ultra.
Also would like to know if this year had any problems I should be aware of.
What do you think I could sell my SG for? it has 40,000mi on the odometer. New tires, loads of extras including Sweeper 2+2 handlebars.
There was a recall on 2010 models for a problem with the rear brake light switch. That's all I can remember. I have a 2010 RKC with no problems at 20k miles.
Other than the rear brake recall (I believe they had a heat issue with the rear master cylinder), the only other issue with the 2010s was the weak compensator. You're going to want to upgrade the compensator to the SE version at some time if you start to increase the engine output with cams, big bore or heads.
I replaced my stock compensator when I did the FM107. My compensator never failed but even as a stage 1, I would get the "thunderclap" start up.
Other than the compensator my 2010 has been a great bike.
