i have been going since the mid 70s,only now i bypass myrtle beach altogether.murrells inlet and north myrtle are where most people go since the helmet and pipe fiasco.you will find plenty to do at either place.be safe and have fun.
I've heard too many horror stories to go. One year a friend had his bike stolen, 8 am while eating at IHOP. Bike was chained to about 3 others, cut the chain and picked up the bike in a van and gone. Lucky he had good insurance and he upgraded. But what a pain!
Law all over in riot gear.
Not to mention that SC is the most crooked state in the South. If you get a speeding ticket, you will pay your ticket to an officer, and it will never show up on your record, just a way for the officers to make a little on the side.
Pretty places to ride, but a lot of aggravation.
Guess I've always missed the riot gear. And if you think the cops are crooked and didn't report the theft of the money, that says a lot too.

Exactly. I've had several tickets since moving to SC years ago, and not once have I paid an officer directly. Don't believe everything you read on the internet. My experiences with LE down here have been pretty positive...other than the actual tickets which were all legit. I had far more problems with LE in MD...
Also making the trip with four other guys, that go every year. Headed out from Pa. tomorrow morning around 7am. Weather is looking sweet the whole way down.
I have been going to MB for years. Never had a problem with the police and have never seen any riot gear. The kuckleheads I know that have had problems deserved all they got.
Law all over in riot gear BS. payin a ticket right to the cop?? BS again. It ain't Mayberry. I've gone down 8 years in a row, will leave tomorrow to go again. Bikes stolen?? Daytona probably has more bikes stolen in one year than MB in 20. I don't know who started the BS rumors but I've NEVER had an issue there. The only folks I have ever seen pulled over were acting like Aholes. MB is still the best rally on the east coast. A select few weenies in the town of MB started some crap in 09 but that's 5 years ago and although it did take a toll on attendance I've heard more crap stories from folks that have never been there than those that have.
