Compensator Gone
Anyone notice any extra vibration in the footboards after your comp went bad?
I have a ton of drive line slack and huge vibration around 2200 rpm and idle/start off. Trying to figure out if the comp could be my problem before opening it all up.
Clutch feels good, no vibration there.

I know that my 09 also has a lot of driveline slack. When I replaced a bearing on the final drive shaft, I was amazed at how much slop there was. I called one of the Harley mechanics and described it to him. He say "ya, there is a lot of slack in there...that is pretty much normal".
This one feels like, you know, a loose chain or something. Gas it, big pause, big bump then goes.
Then there is this vibration that is all over the place really. Bad at 2200-2500 rpm mostly. The engine is jumping around in the frame like it does at idle but at speed.
I've read a lot about vibration and comps over the last few days.
What I basically get about the vibration is that it could be exhaust touching the frame, a bad tune, something in the primary, crank runout, intake leak, spark, gas, air, or the presidents fault.

All over the place...
So today I'm going to start tearing into stuff and eliminating junk. Good times.
