The improvement is really significant. Previously I was constantly cringing over the same roads. Not now. I knew the front suspension was always harsh but the back end was so brutal that I didn't notice it. Now the front end feels pretty bad. That'll be next. At $399 delivered to my front door from Kutters I'd have to say its a great value/improvement upgrade. I'll have to wait and see how they work when I crank them up all the way to carry the wife but have to be better that the stock junk.
You'll LOVE the fronts when you put in the HD Premium ride kit. Night & Day difference.

Is there a significant difference hitting sharp edged bumps with the HD fork kit? That's the major issue I'm looking to correct.

Yup, they don't feel nearly as sharp. The valving of the cartridges is far superior to stock.

Thanks I've been on the fence about which kit to try. Don't want to spend $1200 on the Traxxion and the nitrogen filled Monotubes don't appeal to me. I'll give the HD kit a shot.

I've been reading similar threads about rear shocks trying to make up my mind as to which way (brand) to go.

I have a '13 CVO Ultra and I've changed the air pressure in the rear shocks and I just can't get the ride I want.

My main complaint is the sharp jolt when going across pavement cracks or the occasional "pot hole".

I'm going to try adjusting the air pressure one more time.

It just p*%&#s me off to give H-D more money for something I think they should have put on the bike from the factory.

I feel the same way about shocks as I do seats/handlebars (and most other parts). If HD can't put decent ones on out of the box it will be a cold day in hell before I give them more cash. It will go to the aftermarket every time.

love my ultra but its a shame that u spend 25k on a new bike and the suspension is inferior to some other jap bikes out there. I mean the air shocks are shameful IMO

I've had the 13" HD Premium shocks on for about 6k miles and I really like them over the stock air shocks. It was worth the $400, bike does not bottom out, no more wallowing and I also think the shocks have helped improved overall stability. I have no experience with other brands.

I don't blame you for trying air pressure adjustments one more time, unfortunately the shocks are crap no matter what the pressure's set at.
BTW I'm walking around my dealer yesterday looking at what rear shocks are being used from the factory now. So the Street Glides had the Premium ride adjustable shocks and the Limited and the 38k CVO Electra Glide had the damn junk air shocks. Someone at Harley needs to severely beaten.

You're right to be a bit miffed! Frankly, although the MoCo seems to be offering improved shocks at last, I wouldn't give them my money. We have a suspension guru in one of our HDF sponsors, Motorcycle Metal. Howard there can offer you a range of shocks that will cure your ills, so give him a call.
