Thanks for the info Rider. This is the compressor I have
These little compressors are handy BUT...you don't want to run them too long because they'll burn up. Been there and done it. I now carry some of the CO2 cartridges to dump a bunch of air in the tire and the pump to top it off to correct pressure.
i'm gonna give ride-on a try this week. i rode all day yesterday and i'm convinced my front wheel is out of balance, smooth as silk until i hit 65 and then i'm getting a mild vibe in the handlebars. i'm 99% sure it's the tire. if the ride-on doesn't take care of it i'm pulling the wheel and installing a new tire. we will see.

CO2 is fine in the summer, but in winter when the tires are cold the pressure reduces a lot. It`s best to let it out completely when next to a source of air pressure and replace it with total air.
my experience with Ride On was a mixed bag. Had it in the rear tire of my 12 FLTRXSE. no problems tire smooth. Picked up a nail at a gas station on hwy 50. Rode 43 miles further west on hwy 50, almost made it to cold spring station. When tire went down while i was passing a car at about 90 MPH. Not fun.
Outcome, ruined rear tire.
Ride on will seal most punctures. However if you get the tire really hot before it has a chance to seal, it becomes like liquid pudding and will sling out of the tire through the hole and will not seal.
So, i still use ride on, however i also know it does not work as well as advertised. Great for balancing tires but don't forget the basics like checking your tire pressure. Once it gets hot, and it has not had a chance to do its job, its liquid.
Been using it for years and am happy. I dont depend on it to do the balancing for me have the tires balanced anyway. My main reason is for it's ability to seal nail holes and hopefully prevent a blowout. Since i started using it, Ive pulled 2 nails out without loosing any pressure at all. Just add the proper amount for your tire and use the online dosage calculator. http://www.ride-on.com/calculator.html
i hope this stuff balances the tires well,i just took all the weights off my wheels. damn thing had 16 5 gram weights on the front wheel. i 'm thinking the factory was asleep when the balanced my wheel.
Been using it for years and won't ride without it. If I had a bad experience as a couple here said they did I would contact Ride On. The larger the tire the more it takes so don't know if that was an issue???

i spoke to ride on about my incident. They gave me the same feedback, with a hot tire, it could happen as i described. I think ride on is good stuff don't get me wrong, but its not magic stuff and is produced by humans, so its bound to fail now and again.
update! i put 8 ozs. in my front tire today and took the weights off. what a difference it made, i have my smooth bike back! ran the bike up to 85 stopping at different speeds, smooth as glass again. i am gonna put this stuff in my heritage as soon as i can. i know this was only a one day ride, but i'm sold on ride-on.
