This works very well!
You don't even need any "polish", just a quick brush with the pad.
So after i restore it without getting all crazy with something too aggressive, any tips on sealing the machined edge finish?

Holy crap...are you guys kidding? Polishing the jug fins? Wish I had that kinda time on my hands....But I can guarandamntee I'd find something else to do... Like RIDE!!! (Don't get bent, hehehehe, just messin' with ya)

I'm with you brother - and I'm pretty obsessive about cleaning my bike.

My vote is to leave the machined finish alone.

while I have not polished the jugs on the bike I have used nevr dull on many aluminum antiques, parts and wheels.

My last softail had the machine finish turn to a dull gray one time at Daytona when we got a hotel on the water. It was almost impossible to get back to factory condition, but it was okay. I used green scrub pad and simple green and a lot of elbow grease. Worse case you could pull the heads and jugs and get them diamond cut?

S100 corrosion protectant or whatever they call it will mauntain luster on bare aluminum.
