Default All ALPINE system

Hope I can pick your brains on my attempt on my first FLHX sound system.

I have a 2012 glide that I already installed Alpine head unit UTE-52BT and SPS-610C. They sound crisp and clear in my driveway but like crap at highway speeds.

My question is will ALPINE KTP-445U help? Could I use this to power a pair of 6x9 in the future? Any recommendation on Alpine 6x9?

We'd need more info. There's a forum on here specifically dedicated to audio equipment.

I'm not an Alpine lover, but it would probably help. You're probably sounding like crap for one, if not two, of the following reasons:
1. You're running the speakers off the head unit. Even if it's advertised at 50 watts per channel, they rarely deliver. And they always sound like crap.
2. Your speakers may not be completely enclosed.

You may want more power, especially if you're planning on 6x9's at some point. The amp is not the place to skimp.

BTW, if you wonder why the stereo sounds like crap at highway speeds, turn on your house stereo, then blow a hair dryer in your ear. Same effect.

Yes I am fully aware of the Audio section in our forum where I also posted on yet I got my first response on the touring forum.
I'm looking for someone that might have the same set-up or close to it and can offer advice for my first attempt. Do you have 6x9's in your bags? Any recommendations on that? If not I'll let you get back to playing with your hair dryer

There's one more reason: He's listening at highway speeds. Put a headphone amp under the fairing, install some 3.5mm stereo jacks, and get yourself some good quality earbuds. You'll never go back.

The speakers are for the beer stops.

WOW! Keep your earbuds in and the last guy will blow dry your birds nest for you.

Truth be told. I replaced the stock stuff with aftermarket and I'm not happy with the results yet. The stock sounded fine around town and the highway. My aftermarket sounds better around town but not as good at highway speeds.

I responded to the post in the audio section.

And to the suggestion of earbuds, every local jurisdiction is different, but it's illegal for a driver to wear earbuds where I live. You can't hear emergency vehicles.

I'll just say, 45 rms watts from that amp will not get the job done. You need twice that to really start rock'n.

unless you've had one, I wouldn't discount that amp. Pretty impressive for it's size and documented power. I've run that amp in the past and have to say I was quite impressed with it. The major thing to keep in mind is simply the fact that 40w per channel of amplifier power is FAR SUPERIOR to that of a head unit rated at 50w per channel. There is no comparison

There is ALWAYS going to be bigger and better but for those who want to save their money for beer, I say go for it.

I can't hear emergency vehicles either at 70-80 mph, with or without earbuds. I have to rely on my eyes.
