I just installed the H.D. split vision mirrors.
WOW, what a difference. These mirrors, IMO, are fantastic. I can see what is in each lane to the side and back. I can even see right behing the bike without turning around, and I do mean right at the azz end of the bike.I am amazed at how much area they cover. Only complaint I have so far is that I can't seem to get them quite high enough for me vertically (yet).
Yep - actually, bought 'em when ah bought the bike! DEFINITELY like 'em over the stock units. Didn't feel like I wuz gettin' 'em high 'nuff at first, either - but they were.
I put them on the wife's Deluxe. I bought them to be able to see in the blind spot... you know.. that area at the end of the rear fender, and 5 feet to each side. It doesn't cover that area at all. The convex mirror is at the wrong angle, IMO. It's canted in toward the rider, not in the same plane as the flat mirror, nor turned out for better blind spot vision. I WON'T install them on my Ultra.
I had to return mine because they don't fit the 2007 RK Custom very well. The beach bars are too low and all you can see are the saddle bags. The mirrors don't adjust up high enough to make up for the low bike and hadlebars. I tried the mirror extension but they looked horrible and out of place. Then the dealer, without my permission, adjusted the handlebars so far up that my arms ans shoulders ached, but the mirrors worked. So I had to adjust the handlebars back to the way the bike was delivered and return the mirrors. I now have the original mirrors back on.

I saw them at a dealer on a display stand, thought I wanted them. I was looking in the mirror and could see the parts shelf behind me but could not see any further to the sides in the convex part of the mirror. You answered what I thought.
