I wanna put on some chrome or polished stainless hardware(for the primary, derby, etc.) on the bike(2009 Streetglide) and looked at the harley stuff and see its way over priced(as usual) is there a good place to get this stuff? thanks.........
if you want polished stainless you won't find them in a hardware store. Colony is the brand most companies sell, but they don't sell direct to the public. Gardner-Wescott is another one. They have complete kits for just about anything, motorcycles and autos.
I did an engine kit from alloyboltz.com. Prices seem to be pretty aggressive as well. For the engine kit I did the polished stainless instead of chrome. Did not want to have a nick or scratch rust up on me later. On the engine parts, you cannot tell the difference between the chrome and polished stainless.
For other odd areas I did Gardner-Westcott chrome. Good quality stuff but pricey. There are not many different bolts and washers you need to dress up the rest of the bike (i.e. 5/16-18 1 inch long) so online shopping can find 10 packs of the GW bolts at a somewhat decent price.
I will say that the engine kit will dresses up and brings the chrome together. Night and day when comparing it to the stock bolts.

My local ACE hardware has a decent collection of chrome and stainless hardware.
It's not always cheap, but it's local, and I can usually find exactly what I want there.
Thanks guys, I do use Ace hardware a for a lot of stuff. I went today and knew they had chrome hardware but found a whole section of polished stainless hardware, and they had most of the sizes I need.......... thanks to all for the help.............. Ride safe.........
