I put hog tunes speakers in my wife's 06 ultra when her stock speakers really started to go. We both think they sound great. Eventually I want a set in my bike.
I'd recommend trying the infinity speakers and adapters without an amp. If not enough ya can add an amp later, but I think ya may be happy, at least for a while? They will at least blow the hogtune speakers away.
I read all the audio threads, it gets extremely confusing, so many options! I did not want to put car audio components in my bike that I ride in the rain, so all those options were out for me. I'm not a hard core audiophile when it comes to my bike, just wanted good sound and durability, as in bike specific products. I bought the kit you listed as well as the tweeter pod. Kept the stock radio. Does this sound as good as a high end car system with a sub-woofer, nope, does it sound pretty damn good, yup! And all the factory controls and functions are still in place, price was reasonable, and even with the tweeter pod it's totally plug and play and super easy to install. And it's really a personal preference thing, some guys want saddle bags full of amps and speakers and more, that's fine by me. I just wanted better sound than my blown to hell stock speakers, heheh. If your looking to be economical and get decent sound, the Hogtunes system will fill the bill. And I'm sure you know what your getting at this price point. All user reviews I've read on this set up say that the system is durable and lasts, so it's not junk, and it's not high end either. It's mid range with decent sound, way way better than stock.

Pretty much this. It is a great budget system. I have the tweeter pod and have replaced my stock fairing speakers with the Hogtunes as well. I wanted to be able to hear my music clearly at interstate speeds, without dropping several hundred bucks. Mission accomplished.
Thank you all I'm stepping up from ear buds I don't want a really loud system I just want a mild sound that's clear and better then stock if I want a loud system I'll get in my 4 runner. I'm trying to find a dealer or someone local that has them to listen to I've heard the boom system and didn't like it.
Wallace said it exactly.. every time someone asks about audio stuff the op's gets shot to hell and people end up throwing out 128 different combos that will get ur 325 watts of power for & 736.. if hostages work for the average guy **** it.. get some hotunes.. I'm definitely in the market for some

Hogtunes has great customer service. I had them on my limited and had some issues with the amp (quality in question) they replaced it no questions asked. However, for the money it was a huge improvment, but did not do the job as far as face melting tunes if that iswhat your looking for. I swapped mine out two years ago for something louder. Two RFG 300 watt amps and 8 RFG punch speakers and now it is as loud as I want it. GOod luck.

What system do you have? A friend of mine has a 2000 ultra classic and his front speakers are popping and he is in the market for some new speakers that won't cost him and arm and a leg. Do you recomend the Hog tunes or something else?
