Polyfill from Walmart or a craft store. Wrap the back of the speaker (inside the fairing) to direct more sound out the front instead of bouncing around Inside the fairing. Costs less than 5 bucks and makes a noticeable difference. Zip tie the wrap in place. Takes less than 15 minutes.

I read all the audio threads, it gets extremely confusing, so many options! I did not want to put car audio components in my bike that I ride in the rain, so all those options were out for me. I'm not a hard core audiophile when it comes to my bike, just wanted good sound and durability, as in bike specific products. I bought the kit you listed as well as the tweeter pod. Kept the stock radio. Does this sound as good as a high end car system with a sub-woofer, nope, does it sound pretty damn good, yup! And all the factory controls and functions are still in place, price was reasonable, and even with the tweeter pod it's totally plug and play and super easy to install. And it's really a personal preference thing, some guys want saddle bags full of amps and speakers and more, that's fine by me. I just wanted better sound than my blown to hell stock speakers, heheh. If your looking to be economical and get decent sound, the Hogtunes system will fill the bill. And I'm sure you know what your getting at this price point. All user reviews I've read on this set up say that the system is durable and lasts, so it's not junk, and it's not high end either. It's mid range with decent sound, way way better than stock.
