Default Is this normal

I have a 12 street glide is it normal for the rear brake rotor to be hot. I changed the pads and had the caliper taken apart and cleaned 3pistons we're sticking. It's back together and rear rotor gets hot to hot to touch is that normal local hd shop says its fine but you know how that goes.

Yes its normal. Brakes work on friction, friction creates heat, metal is a conductor and will retain heat.

The pads need to seat to the rotor give it 100 miles or so.

The pucks actually make light contact with the disk during normal operation, I've noticed, and that will heat up the disk...no biggie.
