The internet seems to have created "problems" that perhaps never existed before. Not saying this about all things, but certainly some things. We all want the perfect bike. Some days I want less wind than other days, just depends on my mood. But there are defeintely a lot of "complaints" on "buffeting", that sometimes I think is nothing more than wind. Some folks just want no wind, and the only way to accomplish that is with a cage.
Came from a 2013 Road Glide Custom, now on a 2014 SGS. Night and day, hands down, the SGS is my favorite bike. From the suspension when 2-up with the wife, to the power, I'm floored at the difference.
BG13, don't believe some of the crap you read on the website. As to the 'Poser' thing, why should anyone give a rat's @ss what someone else does or doesn't do. Just maybe these guys that bitch about the 'Posers' should take a good look at themselves in a mirror. Enjoy your new bike & be safe.

Best post I've read on this forum!!!
I couldn't agree more.
Love my SGS. Best Harley, & best motorcycle I've ever owned (and I've had a bunch).
Just wish I could work less & RIDE MORE!
I used to bash Harleys all the time. Couldn't figure out what all the hype was about.
Then I decided to check out a local Harley dealership to see for myself.
Well, I finally got it. The bikes just look better all around. The fit and finish is second to none.
I purchased a 2008 Nightster and loved riding it.
Then I started giving my bagger friends a hard time saying you don't need a windshield or saddlebags, not to mention a radio.
Well I test drove a Street Glide and fell in love. Traded my Sportster in 4 days later.
It's funny. I was never a Harley hater, but i did swear that I would never own one and get caught up in the the Harley "hype". I came off 600 Sportbikes and then moved to a sport cruiser. All my buddies were on Harley's.....so I bought the only one that appealed to me at the time, the Vrod. I traded that for a FatBob, then traded that for a Street Glide for the bags and fairing/radio. Guess what? I own a Harley and hate to admit it, but am caught in the hype! I also have never been happier on a bike!
This is almost 100% my experience. I actually spent a few months doing a lot of research of why people loved, or hated, on HD. I came to the conclusion that the current haters seem to be narrow-minded people who refuse to acknowledge that there are really great things about HD bikes. I then test rode a few at the local dealership. I fell in love with my current ride, sold my Ninja, and the rest is history.

There are a lot of haters for the sake of hating, but just as many lovers of Harley that always followed blindly just because of the logo. When I was a kid, all my dad's buddies rode Harleys and they spent more than half their time wrenching on it because it didn't run. That was the image that was in my head.
Not sure when HD got their act together on quality, but I'm damn happy they did.
