1. Every 5000, 10000, 20000 as the manual recommends.
2. Once a year if I don't make 5k the prior year (yeah it happens once in a while).
3. Everything before a major road trip. I like knowing there are fresh fluids in the bike and just to check and make certain I'm not getting any new unexpected wear.

Duh, if you bought the book you wouldn't have to ask, Mr. Appreciation.

You have every right to ask others and I responded earlier on in the thread:

"By the book. No need to second guess the MoCo or its engineers on this one."

I guess I was expecting too much in assuming that you had read the service criteria and that I really should have spelled it out more clearly. I simply pointed out what another had posted expanding on what I failed to include in my 1st post. If my 2nd post warrants name calling perhaps you should grow thicker skin.

I keep a sheet of paper in my tool box with my service manual I jot down what I do to the bike... Easy to keep track of it, sometimes I have changed the tranny earlier because I forgot.,,.Hell a quart of formula plus is just $10...No big deal...How hard is it to write something down... hell there is probably a place on your smartphone if you have one to do that...

No frown here guys.. .. just dishing back the left overs

I probably ride the bike till its towed in and get it done all @ once

I am extremely bad @ maintenance and reading a manual...just not me

***** if i had to read a manual ,, it leave me very little use for the forum

trying to get a understanding of the extreme maintenance man to the guy who does it once a year and try and fall in the middle

I work with dumb asses all day long that are too lazy to look in the manual for the systems we work on. Irritates me to no end. This is why you are getting the responses you are getting. It would take all of 5 minutes for you to look in the owners manual and find this out. Any thing more or less often than the intervals in the owners manual are just personal choice and someone's opinion.

It's not that we are smart asses. Were just tired of hearing the same old $hit over and over. What oil to use. When should I change my oil. What windshield should I buy. My motors too hot. Should I go left or right. Seems no one can make up their own mind any more. Just imagine for a minute that there is no internet. What would you do?
