I change mine when the top end noise gets more pronounced. Usually around 2500 miles. I use conventional oil from Autozone.

By the book. No need to second guess the MoCo or its engineers on this one.

I follow the service schedule in my owners manual. The published schedule from HD regarding the equipment they manufactured seems to work best for me.

I follow the recommendations in the owners manual, although I change all 3 holes each time. I do the work myself, and use the SYN3 oil, cost me 100 bucks and I know its done right. Oil changes are money in the bank.

I change mine at about 7500-8000 miles. I use whatever v-twin full synthetic is on sale. 2010 EGC, 51000+ miles. No issues and running strong.
