Default USB Charging station?

Hey guys,
I am getting ready for a 9,000 mile trip this summer and I need a set up to charge multiple items while on the road. I am thinking of 4 USB charging items at a time.
I have been considering adding two of these
http://www.amazon.com/Blue-Sea-Systems-Charger-Socket/dp/B0082CXEI8/ref=sr_1_11/177-9303076-2579516?ie=UTF8&qid=1401223745&sr=8-11&keywords=motorcycle+power+socket http://www.amazon.com/Blue-Sea-Systems-Charger-Socket/dp/B0082CXEI8/ref=sr_1_11/177-9303076-2579516?ie=UTF8&qid=1401223745&sr=8-11&keywords=motorcycle+power+socket
inside my trunk but want to know if anyone has any better setups that will meet my needs.

I already have 1 power socket (cig lighter) in there which I will be removing. Don't like how the butt-plugs keep vibrating out of the sockets.

I was looking at that same outlet. My concern is something happening to it on a trip. I've been using a dual plug in the cig lighter that I installed on the right side of the fairing. I can pick up a replacement at any Wallyworld if it should crap out. I carry a spare just in case. So it never will.
I never had it come loose on me. But I do check it once in awhile on a ride.
I do like the permanent look of the Blue Sea outlet.

Unfortunately, we have a lot of electrical stuff and we are planning on camping a lot along this trip.
Things we are taking with us.

120gb Zune for music/audio-books
iphone
2 digital cameras
Nook color
Nook simple

I figure if I install the two outlets, that gives me 4 devices I can charge while we are riding down the road, and the Zune can charge over night. Heck, I even thought about investing in one of those stupid solar panel charger things.

Fix the power outlet with little (cup) hooks instead of normal fasteners. You will be able to attach a rubber band that you twist around the cable(s) to keep the plug(s) seated.

Fwiw, I've got one of these on my handlebars. Like it well enough that I'll get a few more for other bikes, and the other side of the handlebars.

I hope your charging system is up to the task. Be sure and test it before leaving.

I got mine from one of the vendors on e-bay. Just search "usb cigarette lighter handlebar". Seems like they are all the same, just buck or two difference in price from the various sellers.

Bunch of them on Amazon as well. Same search "usb cigarette lighter handlebar".

yellotang, i actually have one of these mounted on my BMW for my cell phone... None on my limited yet... the problem your going to have with this charging port is that between the two ports, there is only 2.1 amp available to charge your devices... fine for a cell phone, but for charging a tablet or a camera, its probably not going to work.. check the requirements for the actual chargers for those devices... I know it won't charge my tablet or my camera, just not enough amps... what your probably going to need, is a inverter to convert DC to AC, and use the devices actual charger, at least for everything but your phones. I do a fair amount of dry camping with out power while traveling on my BMW GS, and have a set up to deal with just this stuff.
I have a second battery ( a lithium ion motorcycle battery ), that i have connected to the bike with an battery isolator... battery charges during day while riding, at night i connect a DC inverter to it, and use it for charging my devices, and powering a medical device i need to sleep. i'm in process of setting it up on my limited, for a 8 day road trip this june that i will be using to camp most nights with out power.

I use one of these with the 12v outlet i installed in the tour pak. It'll charge both my tablet and phone at the same time. I don't charge when the bike isn't running so I don't know if it'll kill the battery.
