Default HD led passing light discovery

I removed my led passing lights from my old SG and installed them on my 2010 EG Classic. When I turned on the ignition to test my work I noticed that one side produced blinding light while the other looked as it always did. Upon closer inspection I noticed that I had the bright led installed upside down. At that point I was tempted to turn the other the same way but figured there must be a logical reason to install them right side up.
In all honesty I was never impressed with the light they throw, especially in daylight for safety reasons, you can hardly notice they are on.
I didn't test it at night but I'm thinking if you install them upside down the light may be directed skyward instead of down on the road but I'll tell you what, I you want to be noticed during the day, as a safety feature, upside down is the way to go.

There's a thread in the Rushmore section where someone did that, turned their passing lamps upside down. From the posts they said night and day difference...anything to be more visible, maybe stop a few left turners!

not a good idea to blind anyone unintentionally... bad idea to flip them as most folks use them all the time with low beam whats to say you forget and really blind them at nite?

try riding more defensively... after all your responsible for yourself not everyone responsible for you.

other than doing something like this i find modulators to be just as bad.. you distract someone who may notice the light but fail to notice they are heading rite at you...

and that is my two cents.. may not be worth anything to you.
