I'm sure the J&S are fine jacks, but for most of us the $100 Sears one is all we need. Now if I was going to use one all the time, which I don't ever see happening, then I would probably get a better one. But the red Sears jack has never failed me. I have had it through 5 bikes and never an issue. But once again, I rarely use it.

No not really. Had my bike on a friends Sears red jack before I bought the HF, which BTW was better than the Sears red jack. My bike never felt safe or secure on either of those jacks. Bought the J&S and never looked back. It's money well spent.

I love this jack! Rock solid....I drive my King into the garage...jack it up..spin it and I'm ready to ride straight out without having to muscle it around.

Are you kidding me? You jack your bike up just to avoid backing it out of the garage?!

J&S makes a great jack and they are well worth the investment.

I bought one at Menards (home improvement store in the midwest) and have not even used it yet. If weight is any indication I could put Harley's whole lineup on that thing and it wouldn't budge..that thing is burly!..and it was on clearance for $60.00....1500lb capacity. I'm sure it will last until it breaks.

A bike lift. Honestly I think a good jack like the J&S is more useful than a lift. You can do more work to the bike on the J&S jack than you can the lift. Lifts are good for guys that work on bikes all day long so they are not bent over working on them killing their back. For the home mechanic I would take the J&S all day long over a lift.

Never had a issue with bike feeling unstable on my red craftsman jack. My only complaint is it doesn't fit under the bike. Have to roll bike on some boards first.
