I'm trading in my 07 for a 14. So what's the proper procedure for the bell? Do I keep it? Do I leave it alone? Do I take it off and leave it in the biggest pothole I can find? I need good advice here. I don't want to jinx myself or the next guy.
Find the nearest set of railroad tracks and duct tape it to one of the rails. After the train smashes it flat you can hang it on a nail in your shop/garage or attach it to your vest/jacket.
It's the very latest in trends.
If your bell has served you well, do not abandon it. Take a fresh wrap tie, or piece of wire and transfer it (with great ceremony) over to your new bike.
Will transfer some of the good times memories from your old bike to the new one. Kinda like something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue.
You would not throw away your comfy, broken in riding boots just because you bought a new bike.
Kinda tongue in cheek, but many keep their bells for generations.
Please see page 357 of the Gremlin Bell manual, (section 17.8.2) for the proper conduct of the Gremlin Bell transfer ritual. Make sure a certified Gremlin Bell Officiant presides over the ceremony.
If you fail to follow these procedures, you're F***ed.
