We rode from Dallas to Galveston last Thursday and came back today (Saturday). Knowing that we would get into some rain, we pack our rain gear. I have the H-D Packable Rain Jacket & Pant. Checked the weather before leaving Galveston this morning. We were going to be getting into the rain just south of Houston and not get out of it until about Huntsville. So put the rain gear on. I guess I don't know how to wear the pants. I thought that the stirrups were supposed to go underneath the boot, but if I wore them that way I would not have been able to zip the pant leg shut and closed the velcro fasteners. I guess the ankles of my boots are too big around for that. So I put the pant on first then my boots. My feet got soaked. This can't be right. So what's the trick?
With my one piece Tourmasters the legs go in the outside without problems. Wife usesToggs and also wears on the outside. If yours are too small, get some of the flexable over boots. I have seen them in J&P and other places.
You need some rain boots...try the MoCo's Rain Gaiter...only about $40 and they work well. I ride in rain all summer long and feet haven't been wet yet.

Underwear first- then pants. LOL
Actually, if your boot were Not waterproof - they would have been soaked either way... the over boots work great... I am planning a ride to AK - Just bought a pair of 5.11 waterproof boots for the trip with a pair of Roadgear waterproof pants with armour in them... this way, the only thing I need to put on is our rain jacket... Its only water, but a soaked foot is a real bummer....
If you put the rainsuit on and then put the boots on with the legs of the rainsuit inside the top of the boots is it any wonder that you got wet? All the water off of the rainsuit funneled right into the top of you boots.
If the suit won't close around your boot, just put on gators, and close the bottom of the leg as much as it will.
I am a little surprised at you problem. My HD rainsuit is plenty big in the ankle to go around my boots and my gators both and still be able to zip completely.
I guess your original question remains! The pants go OVER your boots, the stirrup gets blocked from sliding from the heel of your boot. Rain gear always go over whatever else you're wearing.
