Default Back from the dyno

The bike wasn't just running right. I had the bike put on to find out what was going on. Turns out the shop who loaded the the map, loaded a map with a SE 259 cam instead of my SE 255. So needless to say the bike runs great now.

One question I still get a little pop in the 2,100-2,300 area. Not a huge deal but letting off coasting down the mountains where I live the popping is kind of annoying. Just wondering should I forget the little popping issue, and just be happy with a bike that runs wonderful?

That should be an easy thing for the operator to tune out. Were I you, I'd take it back and have him fix it.

I would think a dyno tune would eliminate the popping your getting. I know you said the bike runs great. But I'd question the tuner experience level.

If you have the ability to adjust your tune you might try adding some fuel in the rpm range you are experiencing the decal popping that is after you check for exhaust leaks, cracked pipes and loose clamps that could cause similar problems.

^^^This, check for exhaust leaks then add fuel to the decel. You won't get rid of all the pop but it should be minimal. Your dyno guy should know this.

After reading this again....did you get the bike dyno tuned or just have the map changed and then a dyno run?

Full dyno. The first shop loaded the wrong map, then I took it to one of the more reputable dyno guys around. Dyno Dave at Colonial HD.

For what it is worth. I had a bike dynoed o the Ultra with 30k on it. Had another dyno guy tell me that I should have had the fuel filter changed at 30k before it went on the dyno.

At 40k or so I changed the fuel filter and now I have decel pooping like you described. Had it before but since the filter change I swear it is worse after the new filter.

Take it for what it is worth, but I lay respect to the dyno guy that told me I should of had the filter changed.

Why won't he get rid of all of the pop? It's really not that difficult assuming no exhaust leaks.
