so, saturday the misses and i went for ride to grab a bite to eat. we were rolling along at about 70 and every once and a while it felt like the engine was cutting out. it would only do it real quick once or twice every 20 minutes or so and not only at 70, probably just in the same rpm range. the next day we rode down to Cassoday Ks. its about 350 miles so i went through few few tanks of gas so i would think it should be cleaned out by now. i am due for a tune up so i should find out soon. just thought i would take some suggestions. i ride a 2006 road king standard with a stock fuel injected 88. i have had vance and hines slip-ons for about a year with no issues
I would check your connections to the throttle body and injectors giving them a little refresh of dielectric grease treatment. Then check the main harness and also the fuel pump and gas tank hoses to make sure there are no holes.
Also might want to check your plugs and plug wires. Just seen a post not long ago about the plugs wires corroded where it snaps onto the plug inside the boot. Hope its a simple fix man
2006 models had some suspicious injectors. I forget now, but there was an easy way to identify whether or not the "good" injectors were in your bike. Apparently the moco changed injectors in mid run and then went back and retrofitted the early injectors if owners complained of running problems.
My 06 EGC is havering the exact same issue. I just posted about it but no one replied. So far I changed my plugs, and ordered new wires. Tonight I am going to check my wire connections, grounds and battery connections and pull to see if I have any codes. I have the newer injectors in mine, so I know that's not it.

True i did forget about there injector problems. I looked it up the new style injectors will say 25 deg and have an A at the end of the serial part number.
first let me apologize for not replying sooner but I "think" I figured if out. the other day I go out and wiggle my plug wires. one of them seems lose so I pull it off and the nipple on top of the plug had unscrewed and was stuck in the plug part of the wire. so the wire was basically resting on top of the plug. problem solved!!!..... wrong. I take her out and its still happening. but as I'm riding I hear what sounds at first like a lifter rattling. when I get home and inspect further, I find what I understand is a comment problem, the pipe coming out of the rear cylinder is cracked. I get a hold of a friend who is notorious for constantly modifying and remodifying his road king and he happens to have a set of bassani equal length pipes he took off his bike. sold them to me for 150, 130 for S&S air filter and 260 for a fuelpak, right after our expensive trip to eureka springs, ouch, and she seems to be purring like a, well, lion. and finished 6 days before biker bash at helens hilltop! crisis avoided!
