depends how handy you are- pictured is the delphi receiver I used on my evo, with a $65 fm modulator it works fine.
I modified the car mount kit and added 2 clamps over the bars, I can thumb the controls ( or my wife uses the remote control)
Here's my setup
XMP3i with car kit. Cost around $160.
Plugs straight into the Aux port.
It records up to 30 hours of selected XM stations plus you can record up to 10 hours of individual songs.
It can also play MP3 that are loaded onto an 8 gig micro SD card.
Plays audio books as well.
I use this baby in my car, truck as well as on the SG.
You can use thexm app on your phone and bluetooth it over. But you need cell service where ever you go and use data. So cross country trip won't work everywhere. Nice to have it integrated into system and is worth something on trade or resale.

How does the unit hold up to vibration, rain and visibility(day n nite)? Thanks for reply in advance.
Your phone will work as long as you have coverage. For those that travel out west . . . that's a whole different story. Your best bet, and cleanest in my opinion, is the factory module. Go with Kutter for the 20% discount. It's all integrated and when you park your bike you get off and go.
It is darned expensive, then you have to buy the harness =$150. Then the subscription!!
I bit it cause I figured I didn't want stuff hanging on the bars like my 95 Ultra.
I also added an aftermarket antenna.
That said, it works great, looks good and with the amp and bigger speakers, it sounds awesome.
Just one of those things that are our personal ways of making the bike YOURS.
$20K out the door in 2012, sitting around $28K now with all of my stuff I've added but, its all mine!!
Its only money, ya cant take it with ya!!
