Went to the dealership to have the fork lock recall done. I now have close to 20,000 miles on my 06 Ultra. They found that my back brake pads are getting thin ($65 for pads). I must of took a rock to headlight. Cracked lense ($95 for lens). Time for $20,000 service ($600).
Anyone know of a better place to buy parts? I will do it myself but need a better source for parts.
Thanks
Jeff
Zanotti HD.... 20% off list, no sales tax if shipped out of PA, the best customer service on the planet. Takes about 7 working days tops to get any part.
Make a shoping list and try to order your filters, etc all at one time to save on shipping.
I usually keep an extra supply of various parts for my bikes. Extra sparkplugs, front and rear brake pads, lubes, o-rings, extra allen bolts....etc. Whenever I use that part...that part is ordered immediately and put on the shelf for another day.
If anything comes up.....75% of the time I will have that part. If not, then I usually get that part the same day or the next. Rarely do I ever have to wait for a part to keep the bike on the road.
I not only keep just parts...but also fasteners. Split rings, washers, bolts, nuts....I will be damn if I miss a riding day because ONE fastener is missing.
Zanotti Motor is MUCH quicker getting your parts to you than Chicago HD. I have always ordered parts from Zanotti and have always been happy with them. Well, 2 weeks ago I ordered a few things from Chicago HD since Zanotti did not carry the parts. My order still has NOT shipped. I emailed them a few days ago and I have not yet received a reply. Anyone else have this problem with Chicago HD?
Owners of 06 Electraglides got a letter in the mail.
Mine is listed as an 0900 service bulletin.
People were breaking the fork locks because of HD design.
They made a mistake between us and the international design.
Tried to incorporate the two or some such.
Anyway it's a voluntary bring it in and tey will fix it if it pertains
to your bike
