I'm switching primary oils from Mobil1 v twin 10/40 to Harley Davidson formula +.
the bikes been sitting for 2 days now due to the rain, being that all the oils at the bottom should I run till hot then drain or just drain it? what's better? I usually run it hot then drain but figured more will be drained out if it was sittin. I know its obviously thicker when cold............. what say ya'll?
I always drain hot when all the crap is still in suspension instead of resting on the bottom and staying there while drain out.
I do too, I was just being lazy and wanted something to do with the rain tomorrow.... I'l wait and go for a ride and get it good nd hot like i always do............

FYI, that oil should actually be thinner when cold as multi viscosity gets thicker as it gets warmer.
That being said, I agree with the previous poster regarding it being mixed when draining so crap isn't sitting on the bottom.
I'm switching because I think I'm getting a little slip in the clutch. I read some good things about formula + and figured I would try it as I have 2 bottles laying around from the last bike. I tried to get some Rotella 10/40 but the 2 shell stations I went to were out of it or couldn't find it....... we'll see.

I run either Amsoil 20/50 or Mobil 1 V-Twin 20/50 in the engine and Amsoil 75/140 in the tranny. I notice a 20 to 30 degree drop in engine temp over dyno, love either one......... I figured I would try some dyno in the primary this time.....
