Exactly what I'm riding on at the moment. Stock ride height monotubes and stock air shocks. Changed over to monotubes to eliminate fork dive under braking. Haven't been able to make a clear cut choice on shocks and funds have been a little tight anyway. Put a few thousand miles on since did the forks over winter and I am really happy with the ride. I'll worry about the shocks when those are clapped out. Now you can lean hard on the front brakes . Majority of my braking done with the front now.
I am another with stock height progressive monotubes and stock rear air shocks on my 09 FLHP. I added the tubes last summer before a trip to crater lake and love them. I have no immediate plans to swap out the rears as I primarily ride solo and I also have the police air ride seat which is super comfy.
It's always funny reading stuff like this, 'cause the Monotubes were one of the worst additions I've made to any bike I've owned. Ended up pulling them out and using the stock springs, rods, and Intiminator valves. It's a ton better now.

YMMV.
Everyone likes different things, not one person in this thread is right or wrong.
I'd like to see some more detail from folks. Tell me 1) if you are happy or not and 2) what number of clips you used 3) weight.
I've concluded that opinions on monotubes are all over the map, and I wonder if its related to the number of clips. I speculate that more of the people that are happy with them used 1 clip.
My plan is to use 1 clip, I weigh 175, and I'm 5'9"

1) They suck...I am unhappy with them
2) Using 2 clips
3) 175 LBS, 5'10"
I'm probably going to tear down to 1 clip this weekend. That's providing I can get to the clips with out having to remove the 6mm. Since your doing the install let me know if I'll be able to remove one of the clips without having to remove the 6mm.
