I have an '07 FLHR, am 6'-3", an the wife is 5'-4". More of my height in in the torso so I sit tall in the saddle. This leaves Bubba trying to see around my block head or staring at my back.
I currently have a customized EG seat, made the bucket deeper, and the passenger a little higher. I also had the slot for the driver backrest covered over with a solid panel and foam, which gives me all the room in the world while 1-up.
I'm ready to replace it now as one of the seams let go, and want some input.
I looked at a lot over the years and keep gravitating to the HD comfort stitch seat as it looks like the passenger is up higher, plus it looks nice and soft.
So given our vertical challenges does anybody have any advice?
I have the exact same problem. Trying to figure out the best choice in seats for my Ultra Limited.
Customization might be the only true fix; as long as the passenger doesn't gain any weight!
I just looked at the HD website and the comfort stitch seat is out of stock online. It seems like the only seat that raises the passenger a little. I'm at a loss here. Last time I spent $275.00 in seat work that lasted about 2-1/2 years, I've seen new seats from HD for $329.95 so I would rather do that if I can find one new.
yeah, i'm 6', my wife is 5'2" on her tip toes. we have the same problem she gets a great view of the back of my helmet and left or right....bless her heart, she doesn't complain about it. i got a custom day long for me as the harley stock seats didn't provide the comfort, for me, after about an hour. she only rides a couple of times a year so its not a big problem. i just make sure we use the headsets and i point out things at 10 and 2 rather than straight ahead. you might just think about taking it to an upholstery shop that deals in automotive and cycle mods.
