Default headlight options dual-bulb vs stock?

I came across a deal for a dual-bulb headlight from a cvo for about $40, and was wondering if its worth upgrading to it from a stock one? Does the dual halogen light offer much improvement? Or should I just wait a year or two and buy a daymaker?

I'm not sure about the dual bulb, why not buy a TL Phase 7 for $150 from Napa instead of waiting a year and spending $450 for the daymaker ?

I'm nit a fan of how much the truck light sticks out, or the Frenched trim ring to hide it

The dual bulb does give off more light, especially on high beam and looks better than the stock headlight. When finding these deals remember that you need to buy a wiring harness (part# 73272-11) to use the dual bulb and it costs $80-100. The entire dual bulb kit including headlight, mounting ring, and harness is $140 from Kutter. The harness cost makes these "deals" not much of a deal unless it is included.

The dual bulb HID headlamp is way better than stock headlamp. But the LED is way better than the HID.

The dual halogen has significantly better output compared to stock. The lowbeam light distance exceeds stock and really lights up the road ahead for a single bulb. The HD catalog has some comparison charts for stock, halogen, and LED lights. For $40 I say your getting it for almost nothing, new off the shelf is over $175. Make sure the wiring harness is included and still might be a great deal if you have to buy the wiring harness over the counter.

I'd have to agree with this. I've used both the dual bulb hd-light and replaced it with the T/L LED. In addition to the wiring harness you will also require a different bucket for the Dual Head Lamp to mount into your fairing. If I remember correctly the Dual Head Light is deeper.
