I haven't done it on the King, but the metal fingers on the original pegs on my Sporty wore down quite a bit. Almost had to change my pants the first time I did it.

I rode my first bike with floor boards back in 2000. I almost **** myself when I dragged that board brace ripping around a turn. Easy to laugh about it now.

Don't do that. I used to do the same thing, but quit after my SG slid over farther than normal in some oil. The road pulled my foot off the board back under the saddle bag. It took six months for my severely sprained ankle to heal. If you don't believe that, there are Utubes showing the same thing happening to riders who leaned too far in curves. It feels as bad as it looks.

Default Me too!

Kind of a wake-up, but a great feeling!
I do the twisties as often as possible; 2 years ago the 199 from Grant's Pass Oregon to Crescent City CA. Foot dragging central!
PCH 1 from Morro Bay to Carmel OMG don't kiss the mountain but get 'r over!
Maybe Crowsnest Pass this year, maybe central Oregon, but I bet I'll be buying new boards for the bike this autumn.

These bikes do handle well for something that large so a scrape is no big deal.

Yeah, I **** myself too the first time. I try not to because I'm a tad afraid of unloading the rear wheel enough to cause it to slide. Definitely don't need that experience!!

The first thing to scrape is usually the foot boards. They are designed to fold up on impact, so no biggie...however, the next thing to scrape is often the frame. This lifts the bike off the pavement, and traction goes away when you need it most.

Consider the scraping footboards as a warning that you might be inches away from disaster.

Wait until it unloads the rear tire and your pucker factor will increase 10 fold. Kinda like this non riding dip ****. Isn't he cool?
