2012 SG just replaced my fullsac recores with crusher duals slip-ons trident tips, love them a little louder than stock, quieter than the full sacs , nice sound when cruising , nice bark when your on the gas, good price.
Lookin for slip ons to replace mufflers on '09 road king. Want somethin troaty but not to loud. Just loud enough so traffic will know I'm there! Thanks
regardless how loud, traffic will not know you are there - drivers are too busy paying attention to road ahead, listening to tunes, applying make up, eating a big mac, texting and talking on phone. You will just be "background noise". relying on exhaust sound to keep you safe will only give a false sense of security.
I installed some slip-ons by Full Boar on my 2013 RKC last fall. They are on e-bay less than $200 delivered, 2" baffle, so far very happy with them. As stated lots of people go through multiple sets until they find what they like.
Like you I wanted a deeper sound but didn't want to upset the neighbors. Sent my stock slip-ons to American Custom. The removed the baffles and I can now run no baffles, what they call a mid-rumble baffle which I like, or basically the stock baffles. Takes about 10 minutes to change baffles. I can hear the radio on my ultra and yet they sound just right for my taste. I will say they got a little louder after I flashed my ECM with the power vision. I have been told by those who ride behind me they are not too loud. Total cost for the modified slip-ons was about $425 because I ordered the $100 black tips. American Customs work is first class and it only took 8 days when the time I shipped my mufflers to them until I had them back.
I have Screaming Eagle thunder street performance mufflers and they sound good.On the freeway you can hear them and still enjoy the ride.I'm liking the Kuryakyn Crusher mufflers for my next muffler.I want just a little more noise.
