So you got it removed? You never said ( if you did, I overlooked it ) what became of the stinkin cat? Ratshot in a 22 or a good pump pellet rifle works wonders man.
I did get it off. Oven cleaner worked great. Didn't hurt the chrome or anything. As far as the cat goes, this is the smartest and sneakiest little basterd I've ever seen. I put my live trap out with all kinds of bait and he won't go in it. I've come home to find him sitting right next to the trap several times just looking at the bait and then me. Just lookin like he is laughing at me saying, "nice try." The other day I looked out the window and I had a squirrel in my smaller trap and he and another cat were both sitting there looking at it. I went to get my shoes on to move the big trap over there, looked back out the window and he was whoopin the other cat. There were big ***** of fur all over the ground. The other cat was bigger than he was too. I'm sure the squirrel was freaking out watching these two go at it just a few feet away. The two cats each went their way and I haven't seen them since. The trap just sits there empty. I'd love to shoot it but I know if any of my neighbors see me, they will call the law and I don't need that problem. He will eventually get hungry enough and get in that trap. Hopefully, anyway. My ego is starting to get hurt with this cat getting the best of me.
This thread is either full of the biggest baddest bikers (wanting to kill little Mary next doors pet)
Or, the biggest baddest bikers with small ***** syndrome (wanting to kill little Mary next doors pet)
I hope if you kill the poor cat, that all the mice and rats it ate invade your bedroom!

Don't let your ego get hurt, damn things are smart, lol. I have a stray in my yard that I have ratshotted twice now, damn thing still wont go away. Guess its my new outside cat now, mice beware, hehe.
I just want to thank the majority of the posters in this thread making my day. I have not laughed this hard in a looooong time. I especially like the summary from the OP about the cat continuing to outsmart his trap. LMAO!!!!
where I live we a some problems with foxes eating my chickens, once a year or so I leave a mixture of cat food and antifreeze outside around the chicken house and it seems to thin the heard, what I do is mix dry cat food with the antifreeze until moist and put it in a bean can, I refill it for a few days until they stop taking it...I have also used a mix of ground beef and ground glass patties cooked in the microwave so it does not spoil so fast, those you can just toss over the fence into the neighbors property..it will pretty much get rid of anything that might cause you and issue...and if anyone asks I have never really done either of the above, and I will stick to that no matter what ...
What a terrible and sick way to kill any animal. Even a dirty rat deserves a clean instant death. Use poison at least.

I have had luck with smart wary cats by placing the trap in a more private / location and partially covering it as well. Also I thoroughly clean the trap to remove the familiar smell from it, like other cats and death. Try some vanilla or even bengay ointment. a wise old trapper told me to use that for cover scent and for some reason they cannot resist it.
also you could try CBs or something in the .22 and sight it in for the exact range, lure it in and have patience. As it gets colder they will get hungrier and want to eat.
Another thing that works is place some food outside the trap but next to it, they will eat it and want more and are likely to go in the trap to get it. Sometimes you need to resupply the outside bait several times before they go in the trap.
Good luck with the nasty varmint ! Sounds like a feral cat and it needs to be snuffed.
It's funny how many suggestions of execution that have been offered here. Due to my location and surroundings, I can't shoot the cat, even though that would be my quickest means of solving the problem. Offering up an antifreeze cocktail is not something I would do. There has been poisoning problems in my town before and the outcome wasn't good for those who were caught. I prefer to restrict my lawbreaking to low class misdemeanors. He will eventually get in the trap and be relocated. Apparently he doesn't like the cheap Walmart brand cat food. Maybe I should try some catnip. Cats love that stuff. It's just a matter of time.
