I almost changed out my RaceTuner for the ThunderMax closed loop system, but decided against. I already had theRT installed and it's only$300.00 for a dyno tune on the RT for a complete remap. I don't plan on changing pipes or making any major mods for a while so I wouldn't get much benefit from the auto tuning of the closed loop system. So, my 2 cents worth on this subject is if you have something use it and just get it tuned, if you're always changing things on the bike and you want the latest and greatest go for it and install the closed loop system.

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!! $800.00+ for TM. Is it a replacement for the ECM and is that much better than the well respected PCIII for $275.00 ??
How long has TM been around....as far as dependability?
The dollar amount you want to spend can make the decision for you. Myself, I was not willing to spend the amount needed for the SERT, TM, DTT. I got a PCIII from Jamie at Fuel Moto. I had him do the map and send it to me. I had some minor popping on decel that he took care of with one phone call and me changing the numbers. I have not had a dyno done and at this time do not intend to. I am sure a dyno would improve the hp and torque but I am extremely happy with the improvement in power and throttle response that I have now. At this point what little more there is to gain by doing a dyno would not be worth the extra money spent. If I had unlimited money it would be a different story.

Bottom line is some can be very satisfied with just a well tuned bike using a PCIII.

Ride Safe,

Mike
