You guys are costing me money.[sm=bling.gif] What is the difference between TM and PCIII or is there other than cost. Is TM something new that is better or just different ?[sm=dontgetit.gif] I have been reading post on PCIII and just when I think I have all the players on the feild,[sm=confused06.gif] you guys change the program and start talking about this THUNDERMAX thing..??????????
TMax or DTT TCFI-IID, then SERT w/DTT TwinScan II+, then PCIII.
It really depends on your needs / wants / budget & motor. I've used PCII/PCIII with great success since 2001. Now I have a DTT and couldn't imagine not having it.
Regardless of what ya choose... do yourself a favor & holler @ Bart ~ Shooter64, before you buy elsewhere!
I just got the Thundermax installed a few days ago. It made my '07 RK feel like a different machine. Thundermax also replaces the stock ECM instead of linking to it (as I've heard the PCIII does). It may cost quite a bit more at first, but after you pay for a dyno tune for a PCIII the cost difference is much lower. Good luck in whatever you go with.
I've been contemplating the same. Difference is I've got a 2000 Ultra, old Injector system. Never considered a PC until last month when I got my Cams changed to Andrews 26g's, instead of just the tensioners changed. Now the delima. Do I really need a PCIII, Thundermax, or nothing at all? Can't tell by the plugs, which is what I used to do.
WOW!!!!!!!!!!!! $800.00+ for TM. Is it a replacement for the ECM and is that much better than the well respected PCIII for $275.00 ??
How long has TM been around....as far as dependability?
Its rather new. It works good if you get the right base map for it to work off of. Biggest misconception is you just bolt it on and it will tune for any setup, it must be base mapped to your mods then it will fine tune the system. Some have had great results others have had issues, big thread on Vtwin forum under EFI section, 25 pages last I looked. check it out for real rider reviews from guys running it.
