I have a 2005 Ultra and want to replace the stock shocks. I weigh around 270# and take my wife with me sometimes. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
I am having my Progressive 944 springs reduced to the standard. I got them with the Heavy Duty springs. My wife and I are combined about 400 lbs. We compressed the shocks only one inch. That was pre-load set as soft as possible.
Me at 200 lbs, I found the shocks pretty darn stiff so back to progressive they went for a spring reduction. If you go Progressive 944 HD you should be happy.
Ohlins HD 159's on my Ultra. Contact Howard at Motorcycle Metal as mentioned above or Call Ohlins direct. Not cheap but they are the best. IMHO of course (:
If you want to go to adjustable air ride. I have a set of Arnott Aldans (11 way adjustable dampening), new in box for $900
They are the first product listed at this page, the chrome ones. http://www.arnottairsuspension.com/p...42&groupId=157

Welcome to HDF from the UK. Two comments: 1. I also have Ohlins from HDF sponsor Motorcycle Metal - you won't get better! 2. There are lots of brands of shocks available, but not many of them cope well when riding 2-up, which is why so many of us have made the same recommendation!
