I traded my 2013 Street Glide for a 2014 Road King. I wanted the openness and the versatility the road king offers , nothing wrong with a street glide it was just not for me.
I hear.. I wanted a touring harley as well but hate fairings and and the style of most of the touring models. And honestly I had no intention of ever buying one because if that. Until I walked in the dealer to get my Fatboy inspected and saw a 2014 CVO King sitting there! It was so clean and I loved the blacked out drive train.. its like they built the bike just for me. That one was sold tho. So I had to go to a different dealer and they had one on order coming right from the assembly line. So I scopped it up and it never hit the show room floor!!!
Good move. For versatility, you can always make the King SG-like, but not the other way around.
When I was deciding, I rented each for a day for comparison. In the end, versatility, nostalgic styling and, to me, better handling on the King won out.
Hope you didn't put too much into the SG and I like that color on your King.
